Two men wounded in shootout after argument in Mandarin Lowe’s parking lot, Jacksonville authorities say
What happened
Two men were shot Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, 2026, after an argument escalated into an exchange of gunfire in the parking lot of a Lowe’s in Jacksonville’s Mandarin area, authorities said. The shooting occurred at the store at 4040 Oldfield Crossing Drive at about 2 p.m.
Investigators said it was not immediately clear what prompted the dispute. The gunfire left one man in his 20s with critical injuries and another man with a less serious wound. No bystanders were reported injured, and the people involved were taken into custody.
Victims’ injuries and immediate response
Authorities said the man in his 20s was shot in the chest and stomach and was reported to be in life-threatening condition. The second man suffered a gunshot wound to the wrist.

How police located the second man
After the shooting, authorities located the second man inside a vehicle several miles away, near the intersection of Old St. Augustine Road and Bartram Park Boulevard. Police said that individual was also taken into custody, along with others involved in the incident.

The Lowe’s parking lot shooting unfolded on a weekend in which law enforcement agencies in Duval County and at the Beaches reported multiple shooting investigations.
Early Sunday, Feb. 22, four people were shot during a street party near Jessie Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard on Jacksonville’s Eastside. Police said the victims’ injuries were not life-threatening and all were reported in stable condition.
Saturday evening, Feb. 21, Jacksonville Beach police reported that one juvenile and three adults were shot during an unpermitted “takeover” event in the area of Beach Boulevard and Third Street. Police said all four were expected to survive, and no arrests were announced in initial updates.
What remains unknown
Authorities have not publicly described the underlying cause of the Lowe’s parking lot dispute, nor have they released information indicating whether the two men knew each other. Police have not reported any additional injuries related to the incident.
