Ten people wounded in three shootings across Jacksonville area over two days, police investigations continue

Three separate weekend shootings leave 10 people wounded across Duval County and Jacksonville Beach
Ten people were wounded in three separate shootings across the Jacksonville area over a two-day span, with incidents reported in Jacksonville Beach, Jacksonville’s Eastside and the Mandarin area. Authorities said at least one victim suffered life-threatening injuries, while the others were reported in non-life-threatening condition as investigations continued into Monday morning.
The sequence began Saturday night in Jacksonville Beach near the Community First Seawalk Music Festival, where police said four people were shot, including one juvenile. Investigators described the violence as tied to an unauthorized “takeover” gathering near the festival area. Police said a fight among teens escalated into gunfire and investigators believed there may have been more than one shooter. The Jacksonville Beach mayor publicly emphasized that the unpermitted takeover event was separate from the music festival itself. No arrests were announced in that case as the scene was processed.
Hours later, early Sunday morning, four people were shot at a party on Jacksonville’s Eastside at the intersection of A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and Jessie Street. Police reported that 12 to 15 shots were fired. The victims were identified by age and gender as two women, 34 and 39, and two men, 37 and 43. One woman was transported from the scene to a hospital, while the other three victims arrived at a hospital on their own. Investigators had not released a suspect description and continued to ask the public for information.
"Don’t be afraid to tell somebody you know if they see something, don’t be afraid to tell him, hey man, I see you got that gun on the side. Put it in the car, man!"
The Eastside gathering was described by people in the neighborhood as a memorial for Jacksonville rapper Lil Poppa, who died at age 25 in Atlanta on Feb. 18, 2026. The cause and manner of death were reported as pending investigation by the medical examiner’s office in Fulton County, Georgia.
The third shooting was reported Sunday in Mandarin, where the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said two people were shot in related scenes. One victim was shot outside a Lowe’s hardware store at 4040 Oldfield Crossing Drive and was reported to have been hit in the chest and stomach, leaving the person in life-threatening condition. A second victim was found miles away inside a vehicle near Old St. Augustine Road and Bartram Park Boulevard, suffering a gunshot wound to the wrist that was not considered life-threatening.
