Official Notice: Public Meeting on Gas Tax and JTA

Notice is hereby given that Jacksonville City Council Member Jimmy Peluso will host a noticed public meeting today, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. The meeting is scheduled to be held in the Lynwood Roberts Room on the first floor of City Hall, located at 117 West Duval Street. The agenda for this session includes a detailed discussion regarding the Local Option Gas Tax and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA). Residents and stakeholders interested in the city's transportation infrastructure and funding mechanisms are encouraged to attend. This meeting is open to the public and all interested parties are welcome to participate.

Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board Sessions

The City of Jacksonville has announced two concurrent meetings for Community Redevelopment Agency boards this afternoon in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Both sessions will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.:

  • KingSoutel Crossing CRA Board: The board will convene to consider the approval of the August 12, 2025, meeting minutes. A primary item for deliberation is the consideration of funding for the new KingSoutel Crossing Wayfinding Signage Program, aimed at improving neighborhood navigation and branding.
  • Renew Arlington CRA Board: This board will also review its August 2025 minutes and move to consider Amendment 4 to the College Park TID Grant Agreement. This amendment is part of ongoing efforts to revitalize the Arlington area through targeted grant funding.

Administrative and Financial Committee Meetings

The Defined Contribution Plan Advisory Committee (DCPAC) is scheduled to meet in person today, February 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. This committee provides oversight for city-administered retirement and savings plans. Additionally, the full Jacksonville City Council will hold its regular session this evening at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Agendas for the full council meeting include various legislative items and public hearings postponed or scheduled for the early February cycle.

Public Service Announcement: World of Nations Celebration

The City of Jacksonville is pleased to announce that ticket sales are now active for the 34th Annual World of Nations Celebration. The event is set for February 28 and March 1, 2026, at Ford on Bay in Downtown Jacksonville. This year's festival will feature cultural displays and authentic cuisine from 29 nations. The public is reminded that all on-site and advance ticket transactions are strictly cashless. Advanced tickets are currently available through official city portals for $9 plus applicable fees.
