Official Civic Calendar and Legislative Sessions

The City of Jacksonville has scheduled a full roster of committee meetings and legislative sessions for Wednesday, February 18, 2026. All meetings are held at City Hall, located at 117 West Duval Street, unless otherwise specified. Residents are encouraged to attend in person or view proceedings through the city’s official digital streaming services.

  • Transportation, Energy & Utilities Committee: Meeting commences at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chamber, 1st Floor.
  • Special Committee on Duval DOGE: Scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber. This session will address matters related to the Special Committee Charge Memorandum as extended by the Council President.
  • Finance Committee: Meeting begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The agenda includes approximately 23 legislative matters, including the modification of the City's 2045 Comprehensive Plan and reallocation of grant funds for housing initiatives.
  • Land Use & Zoning (LUZ) Committee: The Agenda Meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m., immediately followed by the standing LUZ Committee meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber.

Public Board and Commission Notices

In addition to City Council activities, several independent boards and commissions are holding public sessions today to address specialized community interests, ranging from infrastructure to social services.

  • Downtown Investment Authority (DIA): The DIA Board will hold a hybrid virtual/in-person meeting at 1:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville Public Library-Main, 303 North Laura Street. Note: The start time was recently amended to 1:30 p.m.
  • Homelessness Initiatives Commission (HIC): A board meeting is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the 8th floor of the Edward Ball Building, 214 North Hogan Street. The commission will assess unmet needs and funding status for Duval County’s unhoused populations.
  • Jacksonville Tree Commission: Meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. via a hybrid format (in-person and Zoom).
  • Kids Hope Alliance (KHA): The Governance Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Finance Committee at 2:00 p.m. Both sessions are in-person.

Public Service and Health Advisories

The Florida Department of Health and local partners have issued updates regarding community wellness and upcoming services. While weather conditions remain stable with temperatures reaching the upper 70s, residents should be aware of the following:

Free Community Health Clinic: A free clinic providing health and dental screenings will be hosted this coming Saturday, February 21, at Christian Fellowship Ministries (3302 Evergreen Avenue) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is open to all residents without an appointment.

Code Enforcement Notices: The Municipal Code Enforcement Board is processing multiple settlement agreements regarding local compliance. Residents interested in the status of local development permits, including significant commercial build-outs in the Hodges Plaza area, can find updated records at the Building Inspection Division.
