Official City Council Committee Schedule

Notice is hereby given that several Jacksonville City Council committees will convene on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at City Hall, located at 117 West Duval Street. These meetings are open to the public, and interested parties are encouraged to attend to stay informed on local governance and legislative developments.

  • Transportation, Energy & Utilities Committee: Meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chamber, 1st Floor.
  • Special Committee on Duval DOGE: Meeting at 11:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber to address matters regarding the committee charge memorandum.
  • Finance Committee: Meeting at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 1st Floor.
  • Land Use & Zoning (LUZ) Committee: The Agenda Meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by the full committee meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber.

Downtown Investment Authority Board Meeting

The City of Jacksonville Downtown Investment Authority (DIA) will hold a hybrid virtual/in-person meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Jacksonville Public Library – Main Library. The board will consider and take action on various items currently on the DIA agenda. Residents seeking ADA accommodations were required to submit requests by January 20.

Weather Advisory: Regional Frost Warning

A Frost Advisory is in effect for inland areas of Northeast Florida through 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Local health and safety officials advise residents to protect sensitive vegetation and ensure outdoor pets have adequate shelter from the cold. Temperatures are expected to rise into the 60s following the expiration of the morning advisory, with clear skies anticipated throughout the day.

Public Works and Infrastructure Notices

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has published a notice of Proposed Flood Hazard Determinations as of January 21, 2026. This notice begins a 90-day comment period for residents to review proposed changes to local flood maps. Relevant documents are available for inspection at the City of Jacksonville Development Services Division on North Hogan Street.

Additionally, JEA has set a response deadline of 12:00 p.m. today, January 21, for two major procurement solicitations: the Secure Network Infrastructure Managed Services and the Merrill Road Substation T1 Replacement project. Contractors must submit all responses electronically through the official utility portal.
