Official City Roundup: Notices for Thursday, February 12, 2026

As the lead editor for Jacksonville.news, we are providing the following summary of official public notices, health advisories, and service announcements active in the City of Jacksonville and Duval County for today, Thursday, February 12, 2026. Residents are encouraged to review these items to stay informed on local governance and safety.

Public Health Advisory: Pediatric Measles Alert

The Florida Department of Health in Duval County and local medical officials have issued an advisory following the confirmation of five measles cases within the county. All current cases involve children, with at least three cases confirmed in patients under the age of nine. Baptist Health has confirmed pediatric cases amid a broader regional increase in the virus.

Health officials remind the public that measles is highly contagious and can remain infectious in the air for up to two hours. The Department of Health is currently offering free MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) immunizations to all residents to prevent further spread. Residents experiencing symptoms such as high fever, rash, and cough should contact their healthcare provider before visiting a clinic to prevent potential exposure to others.
