Jacksonville Waterways Commission Regular Meeting

North Citizens Planning Advisory Committee (CPAC)

The City of Jacksonville’s North Citizens Planning Advisory Committee (North CPAC) will hold its monthly session this evening, Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The schedule begins with the Governmental Affairs (LUZ) Subcommittee meeting at 4:30 p.m., followed by the full CPAC meeting at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Oceanway Community Center, located at 12215 Sago Avenue West. For residents who prefer remote participation, a virtual Zoom webinar option is available to ensure continued transparency and accessibility for all community members in the northern district.

Public Health Advisory: Measles Outbreak in Duval County

Jacksonville’s Chief Health Officer, Dr. Sunil Joshi, has officially confirmed a fifth case of measles within Duval County, leading health officials to designate the current situation as an active outbreak. Dr. Joshi has issued a formal advisory to local healthcare providers, urging immediate protective protocols to safeguard both staff and patients. The Department of Health recommends the following measures:

  • Healthcare personnel should verify they have received two doses of the MMR vaccine or possess laboratory evidence of immunity.
  • Medical facilities are advised to post clear signage directing patients with fever or rash symptoms to remain outside for an initial evaluation before entering.
  • Suspected cases must be reported immediately to the Florida Department of Health in Duval County for investigation.

Citizens are urged to review their vaccination records and remain vigilant for symptoms such as high fever, cough, and a red rash.

Upcoming Community Zoning Notice: District 14

Councilman Rahman Johnson of District 14 has issued an active notice for a virtual community meeting scheduled for Thursday, February 12, at 6:00 p.m. The discussion will focus on proposed land use and zoning changes for properties situated along Morse Avenue and Seaboard Avenue.
