Public Health Advisory: Measles Cases in Duval County

The Florida Department of Health in Duval County (DOH-Duval) has issued a high-priority health alert following the confirmation of the sixth measles case in the county since the beginning of 2026. Health officials are urging residents to verify their immunization records and monitor for symptoms, which include high fever, cough, runny nose, and a characteristic red rash. Residents who believe they have been exposed should contact their healthcare provider by phone before arriving at a clinic to prevent further transmission in public waiting areas.

The next full City Council Meeting is slated for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Key items on the agenda include follow-ups on the recently passed Ordinances 2025-0900 and 2026-0036 regarding Eastside community funding and urban blight initiatives. Environmental Safety: Wildfire Risk Warning

City officials have issued a safety advisory regarding elevated wildfire risks across Duval County due to recent dry conditions and low relative humidity. Residents are encouraged to exercise extreme caution with outdoor heating elements and to avoid open burning of yard waste. While no formal burn ban is currently enacted for the entire county, the City is monitoring conditions closely to ensure public safety in residential areas bordering timberlands.

Public Service: Saturday Adoption Events
