Jacksonville, Illinois, woman arrested after home invasion report; police say a shot was fired indoors
Arrest follows Saturday-night call on South Mauvaisterre Street
A 22-year-old Jacksonville, Illinois, woman was arrested after police responded to a reported home invasion in which a shot was fired inside a residence, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
Officers were dispatched at about 9 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of South Mauvaisterre Street after receiving a report of shots fired. Investigators determined that a gunshot occurred inside the home during what police characterized as a home invasion.
Charges and custody status
Police identified the arrested suspect as Tynajah M. Lane, 22, of Jacksonville. She was booked on charges of home invasion and aggravated assault and was being held Sunday in the Morgan County Jail while awaiting her first court appearance.
Authorities did not announce whether a firearm was recovered, who fired the shot, or how many people were inside the residence at the time of the incident. Police also did not release information about any prior relationship between the suspect and the occupants, or whether investigators believe the entry was targeted or random.
