Free vaccinations and microchips scheduled at Jacksonville Humane Society

The Jacksonville Humane Society will host a one-day clinic offering free vaccinations and microchips for privately owned dogs and cats on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The event is scheduled to run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the organization’s campus at 8464 Beach Blvd., using the “Pet Help Services” entrance.

The clinic is being held in partnership with Petco Love, a national nonprofit that supports animal-welfare initiatives. The program is designed to increase access to core preventive care that can reduce the risk of vaccine-preventable disease and improve the odds of reuniting lost pets with their owners through permanent identification.

What services will be provided and who is eligible

Organizers say the clinic will provide vaccinations for cats and dogs that are at least 12 weeks old. Services listed for the day include FVRCP for cats, DAPP for dogs, rabies vaccination, and microchips for all animals. A limit of three animals per person is planned.

  • Vaccines offered: FVRCP (cats), DAPP (dogs), and rabies vaccination.

  • Microchipping: Provided for all animals at the clinic.

  • Age requirement: All animals must be at least 12 weeks old.

  • Limit: Up to three animals per person.

Operational rules and what pet owners should expect

The clinic is planned as a vaccination-only event. Organizers state that veterinarians will not provide exams or address additional medical concerns during the visit. Pets with medical conditions identified at the time of service may be referred elsewhere for treatment.

The event is first-come, first-served. Advance registration is available to help the intake process move more quickly, but organizers note that registration does not guarantee a pet will be seen. Standard handling rules will apply, including leashes for dogs and carriers for cats.

  • Dogs must be on leash.

  • Cats must be in a carrier.

  • Service model: Vaccination clinic only; no exams.

  • Availability: First-come, first-served; advance registration does not guarantee service.

Rabies and microchip policies, plus licensing note

Organizers say participants cannot decline the rabies vaccination unless documentation shows the pet is up to date. Similarly, participants cannot decline microchipping unless the pet already has a microchip.

The clinic notice also states that Duval County residents may be subject to a $20 City of Jacksonville pet license fee. Organizers advise residents to confirm local licensing requirements ahead of time.

Clinic schedule: Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 8464 Beach Blvd., using the Pet Help Services entrance.

Organizers say the event is not recommended for pets with a history of vaccine reactions or severe health concerns, and they reserve the right to refuse service to those who violate the privately owned pet policy.
