Detention and next investigative steps
Detaining a suspect does not by itself indicate formal charges have been filed. Investigators typically use early witness statements, physical evidence at the scene, and follow-up interviews to determine whether an arrest is warranted and what charges may apply. No charging information was announced Tuesday evening, and the case remained under investigation.
