City Notice: Water Shortage Restrictions and Planning Commission Schedule

Official City Roundup: Notices for Thursday, March 19, 2026
As the lead editor for Jacksonville.news, we are providing the following official notices and public service announcements active for Thursday, March 19, 2026. These updates include critical utility mandates, city planning schedules, and transportation alerts for residents and business owners across Duval County.
JEA Phase II Water Shortage Declaration
JEA has confirmed that the Phase II Water Shortage Declaration remains in effect today. Due to sustained dry conditions and declining groundwater levels in the Floridan Aquifer, the St. Johns River Water Management District has mandated strict irrigation limits. All JEA water customers, including those using potable and reclaimed water, are restricted to watering lawns just one day per week. Residents are reminded that these restrictions are legally enforceable, and homeowner associations are prohibited from enforcing deed restrictions that would require more frequent watering during this period. These measures are essential to preserve regional water supplies and protect local spring flows.
