Public Safety Notice: Sheriff’s Community Walk in District 2

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has announced that Sheriff T.K. Waters, accompanied by senior staff and various community partners, will conduct a neighborhood walk in District 2 today, Saturday, February 28, 2026. This initiative is part of the Sheriff’s ongoing commitment to transparent community policing and direct engagement with Jacksonville residents.

During the walk, the Sheriff and officers will be available to meet with citizens one-on-one to discuss local concerns, crime prevention strategies, and specific neighborhood issues. Residents of District 2 are encouraged to step outside and share their feedback. The goal of this outreach is to foster a stronger relationship between law enforcement and the community while addressing quality-of-life issues at the street level.

Administrative Update: JaxEPICS System Expansion

Effective today, February 28, 2026, the City of Jacksonville is officially launching the Civil Plan and Plat Review modules within the JaxEPICS system. This launch is a significant milestone in the Mayor’s Action Plan to modernize and streamline the city’s development review process. By moving these reviews into the electronic JaxEPICS portal, the city aims to reduce wait times for developers, engineers, and property owners.

Applicants can now submit, track, and receive feedback on civil plans and subdivision plats entirely online. This digital transition is expected to improve coordination between city departments and provide a more transparent timeline for construction projects across Duval County. Business owners and residents are advised that manual submissions for these specific categories will now be transitioned to the digital platform to ensure maximum efficiency.
